Quebec City, August 23, 2023 – Lawyers Without Borders Canada announces the departure of its Executive Director, Mr. Pascal Paradis. After leading the organization for over two decades and proud of the team’s accomplishments, Mr. Paradis has handed in his resignation following a decision reached after deep reflection and as part of a carefully orchestrated transition process.
The entire Lawyers Without Borders Canada team would like to extend a warm tribute to Mr. Paradis for his unwavering dedication during the past 20 years, which have been highly rewarding. His determination, conviction, and integrity have undoubtedly shaped the organization’s success, propelling it towards new horizons.
A Prepared Transition
Over the past three years, the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Lawyers Without Borders Canada have meticulously prepared for this transition to ensure a smooth handover. A transition plan has been developed in parallel with the search for the individual who will take over as Executive Director.
During the transition, Ms. Karine Ruel, the organization’s Legal Director, will assume interim duties. Her expertise and strong background make her the ideal person to successfully navigate this period of change. A transition committee has also been established to support her in this task, guaranteeing operational continuity and ensuring a transparent and successful transition.
