    Things are moving fast at Lawyers Without Borders Canada! We are currently looking for dynamic, highly-motivated and open-minded candidates with a strong interest in defending and promoting human rights to be one of our volunteer legal advisors in four of our countries of intervention. We invite you to learn more about these opportunities.

    PRODEF: Three volunteer legal advisor positions - Ivory Coast, Guatemala and Haiti

    The Project « Protection of children, women and other vulnerable communities » (PRODEF), conducted in collaboration with the International Bureau for Children’s Rights (IBCR), is in need of three volunteer legal advisor positions in Ivory Coast, Guatemala and Haiti.

    The volunteer legal advisors perform various legal tasks linked to human rights. While some volunteers mainly contribute to the documentation and analysis of issues related to human rights and the drafting of thematic reports, others participate in the proposition of legal reforms, analyse jurisprudence or are implicated in strategic litigation cases that are brought before national and international tribunals and bodies. This is a unique opportunity to gain meaningful experience and apply your knowledge and skills to assist vulnerable people.


    These positions are of a duration of 8 months and will be filled as soon as possible.

    RCVJR : volunteer legal advisor position in Mali

    The project Reinforcement of the Commission vérité, justice et réconciliation pour la paix et la stabilisation au Mali (RCVJR) is in need of a volunteer legal advisor in transitional justice.

    The volunteer legal advisor will be deployed to support the CVJR in carrying out its mandate and action plan. He or she will be called upon to collaborate with members of some of the CVJR’s sub-commissions, for example, the search for truth, «support to victims and reparation», «studies, reports and documentation», «gender», and «public education and reconciliation» sub-commissions. This is another opportunity to take concrete action to ensure that justice is done.


    This position is of a duration of 6 months and will be filled as soon as possible.
